Our little one is growing up

Can you tell how much Charlotte is growing up?? She's most definitely a little girl and no longer a baby. Wow, where has the time gone??

Two Years Old!

Surgery

Hey everyone,

We plan to post updated pics and video soon. Charlotte's getting so grown up each day. But oh boy, we do NOT like the two's... now we know why they call them the TERRIBLE TWO'S. And she's not even two yet!! :(

Anyway, Charlotte is scheduled to have surgery on Friday to have her adenoids removed. We'd so appreciate your prayers for safety, quick healing and no complications. Thank you from two nervous parents.

"New" Desk

We found a steal of a deal last weekend at a consignment sale. Charlotte loves her new $10 desk. She colors on it, she keeps all of her toys in it, she reads books on it... Ahh, it's the simple things. :)

Update on us

Hi everyone, we don't have a lot to report right now. It seems like all we've been doing is working, working, working, but life is good. It's been overwhelming though - I have to be honest. The highlights of our summer however were/are: having precious family come in this month from CA and CO and then a good friend coming in next month from CO. Man, we're just so homesick for all of you that are out of state. Just know that we want to come and see you when we're able to swing it. And don't forget... our home is always open for you to come here. We love visitors!

Charlotte's doing well and is getting so grown up by the minute. We just cannot believe how quickly the time is flying by. All of you parents know what we mean. We'll try to get better about taking more pictures. (Sorry that we never got pictures of the other stuff I mentioned in an earlier post.)

Quick update: Rob is working from home 4 days a week and is liking it, Charlotte still loves feeding the ducks & geese, she loves to go swimming, she's saying more and more each day, and we're looking forward to celebrating our anniversary this fall. (4 years!)

Fun times

Fun times with the ducks. Charlotte's FAVORITE thing to do right now. Not our favorite thing because of the heat, but way worth it to see her joy each time. Every day she asks us "Duck, Duck" or "Quack Quack" or "Ooose ". So adorable.

Recently at Natalie's work, they were having a wedding and the florist made Charlotte her own little bouquet. She carried that around with her for what seemed like forever. See below.

Also, quick update. Operation No-Paci is going well, but we still have a ways to go. For you parents out there - how long did you let your little one(s) have a paci while sleeping?

The Journey Towards the No-Paci (Dum Dum Dum!!)

Oh man, guys... We need help AND prayers! We're realizing now more than ever that we're going to have to wean Charlotte from her pacifier and it's NOT going to be pretty. It's just not happening on its own. She is more attached to that thing more than anything else imaginable. When we try to give her "breaks" from it, it feels like we're pulling out a wine cork with our bare hands and she cries and cries and cries and cries and cries and cries and cries and cries and cries and cries... she has a major grip/"suck" on the silly thing. We need help, advice and prayers.

So here goes.....

Tornadoes

Man, is it ever dangerous to live here! Please keep the folks in Oklahoma in your prayers. Many have lost everything, or have had significant damage from yesterday's multiple tornadoes that hit this state. We're safe though, so praise God.

Catching up

Hey everyone. It's been a wild last month. It started off with everyone getting sick, and Charlotte was the sickest she's ever been when she came down with a scary virus that caused extremely high fevers. We were very concerned. Then, about two or three weeks ago, Charlotte got a bad burn on her arm. She thought the oven door was a fun new thing to play with. Ouch! Her arm is still bandaged up. It's healing nicely, but very slowly. (Just how can they get from one room to the next THAT FAST anyway? It's like Speedy Gonzales!!)

By the way, changing the subject here, but did you know that the wind blows fiercely here in Oklahoma?! Yeah, we're fixing our fence again!! The wind keeps blowing whole sides of it down and breaking the posts! We're praying for NO tornados here this season.

We're doing well otherwise - just taking it one day at time and are busy just being happy. :)
